This week I look at how soccer is portrayed on the big screen. It would not be unfair to say that, with a few exceptions, directors have generally failed to produce films worthy of the sport, as they struggle to avoid those cringing clichés and lackluster action sequences that look nothing like the real thing. But here are five decent soccer films and five more that focus on the hooligan aspect of the sport.
